David Fernández Pérez is a photographer based between London and Galicia in the north of Spain, where he was born. His photographs are often studies of historical places and the erratic relationship between past and present. In his new book Hoping one might land, Fernández Pérez examines the nuances of the past meeting the new realities of the ever changing modern Tunisia; a country in the middle of a radical political and cultural shift. The images in this monograph in some way mirror the experiences he witnessed growing up in Spain in the 1980s.
