The image of the veiled feminine figure— Isis, Artemis of Ephesus, Calypso— has haunted Western culture since Antiquity. Drawing from this powerful allegorical image, The Unveiling Issue delves into the perils and pleasures of the visionary experience. From the sacred shudder aroused by the pipes of Pan to the dangers of seeing the land of Faerie, from illuminating journeys on the astral plane to madness as a mystical quest, we explore the sacred mysteries pulsating in the work of the artists and visionaries who left Old Albion behind to look beyond the veil.
